Colony Road Community Garden Community Gardens:
Meet your neighbors and become a “locavore!"  Community garden plots are available throughout South Euclid and are available to residents through an annual lottery process.  Plots can be leased for a gardening season for a nominal $10 annual charge to cover perpetual upkeep.  To sign up for the next lottery (held in late February), click here.  Throughout the season, plots may become available.  Contact Sally Martin at (216) 691-4219 or smartin@seuclid.com if you would like a plot, but missed the February lottery or would like additional information.  Educational events are held throughout the growing season in cooperation with the OSU Cooperative Extension and Whole Foods Market.  Grow your own food and put down roots in South Euclid.

Langerdale Urban Marsh:

In 2009, the City of South Euclid undertook an ambitious and high profile project to remove a concrete storm water detention basin and create a 10-acre urban marsh to naturally accommodate and filter storm water. The new marsh is a series of natural weirs and native plantings. To visit, go to the public observation deck located at 1980 South Green Road, across the street from Notre Dame College. The observation deck offers an ideal vantage point for viewing birds and wildlife. For more information and to see before and after photos, visit the Langerdale Urban Marsh Page on the City Website. While at the Langerdale Marsh, also be sure to visit Sanctuary on Green, a Bavarian Tea House offering outdoor dining, a sculpture studio, and gift shop. Sanctuary on Green is located at 1936 South Green Road, right next to the Marsh, visit www.sanctuaryongreen.com, for more information.

South Euclid - Tree City USA:

Living in South Euclid means you are part of a “Tree City.” The City of South Euclid has been named a “Tree City USA” for the past 15 years. Being named a “Tree City USA” by the National Arbor Day Foundation, shows South Euclid’s commitment to being a green community and recognizes the pride the community has for protecting one of its greatest assets, the trees. In honor of Arbor Day, the City has also created the Bexley Park Memorial Tree Grove, where trees are planted each year in recognition of a community member who has contributed something great to South Euclid. To see photos from past Arbor Day Ceremonies, Click Here. Finally, South Euclid has a 10-member volunteer Tree Commission to ensure City-owned trees are treated and protected correctly.
